Abstract
The article discusses the concepts of scorecards and dashboards which are associated with automated support for corporate performance management (CPM). Its emphasis is on the association of CPM and its high expectations with a generic application component representation and the elaboration on some underlying business intelligence (BI) technologies. CPM is an umbrella term that describes the methodologies, metrics, processes and systems used to monitor and manage the business performance of an enterprise. The primary expectations set for CPM include the use of metrics; the use of a balanced set of performance metrics; right-time delivery of actionable management information; horizontally integrated management; vertically integrated management; and closed loop management.
